With the expansion and diversification of higher education system, newly-established universities, just like a new blood, put into the team of higher education popularization rapidly. They undertake the significant historical missions like this, deepening education&teaching reform and changing the model of talents’training. As poweful carrier of expanding quality-oriented education, student associations play an indispensable role in these aspects, such as creating the construction of campus culture, leading students to adapt to society and promoting the growth of college students. However, the devolepment of student associations do not go well in newly-established universities due to the limitation of their self-foundation and orientation. The student associations exist a deal of problems in the construction, the management and the large-scale development. Therefore, it is an urgent and realistic issue to manage student associations in newly-established universities scientifically and effectively.This thesis bases on some relevant theories in Public Management and Higher Education. It analyses the existed problems on the management of student associations in Hunan newly-established universities, and puts forward that student associations should build association culture on following human-centered idea, cultivating long-effect mechanism and setting up activity brands,and design a scientific and reasonable associatons system to improve it, which draws lessons from student associations’ management in oversea universities. This thesis also proposes that we should plan the development of student associations well while focusing on the era characteristics, the carrier construction and the research mechanism. Thus, it will further specific association construction in universities, and promote the management of student associations systematically and scientifically.
