Mathematics learning burnout is a series of negative psychology and behavior in the process of mathematics study that students show in the shape of rejection of teachers and being in the low mood, low self-efficacy. Junior high school students are in an important stage of physical and mental development. Research on mathematics learning burnout is in infancy both at home and abroad, especially for mathematics learning burnout of the junior high school. The purpose of this paper is to comprehend the present situation of mathematics learning burnout in junior high school, to explore the effect of social support、mathematics learning motivation on mathematics learning burnout. On this basis, teaching suggestions of relieving mathematics learning burnout were putted forward. In this paper,"Social Support Scale ","Mathematics Learning Motivation Questionnaire ","Questionnaire of Junior High School Mathematics Learning Burnout Forms " were applied. The study employed questionnaire survey as methodology, Junior high school students form2middle school in Changsha were invited to attend the investigations.300questionnaires were issued and82effective ones were regained. The questionnaires were statistically analyzed and results were as followings:(1) Some degree of mathematics learning burnout was existed among junior high school students, totally in mild level. The subject inefficiency had a higher score, which was relatively serious.(2) There were significant differences among gender, type of school, and mathematics achievement existing in mathematics learning burnout. There were significant differences in mental exhaustion between first-grade and third-grade, while the mental exhaustions between first-grade and second-grade, second-grade and third-grade were not.(3) There were significant differences between mathematics learning burnout and its’aspects among different levels of social support of junior high school students. That is, the higher the level of social support, the less mathematics learning burnout that the subjects had; the lower the level of social support, the more mathematics learning burnout that the subjects had.(4) Junior high school students with different levels of mathematics learning motivation had significant differences in mathematics learning burnout. High group’s mathematics learning burnout and its’aspects was significantly lower than low group. That is, the higher the level of mathematics learning motivation had, the less mathematics learning burnout the subjects had.(5) There was a significant relationship among mathematics learning burnout, social support and mathematics learning motivation of junior high school students. Mathematics learning motivation played a role of partial mediating effect between the social support and mathematics learning burnout.(6) On the basis of theoretical analysis and empirical research, some teaching strategies and suggestions to reliving mathematics learning burnout were putted forward.
