Education is the foundation of national rejuvenation through science and education. Education have the function of overall situation, strategy and guidance in improving the quality of Chinese citizens and bringing up excellent talented persons at all levels. We should give high priority to the development of education. Developing education is the key to train high-quality teachers, therefore, we should rely on teachers’education to train high-quality teachers. Teachers’education is a matter of the great cause of overall and strategic significance, and it is also the most important of all focus on. In recent years, a new turn of reform in basic education curriculum has been officially launched, during which, the reform of middle school English teaching occupies an important position and function. The development of English teachers’education become an important topic in the reform of basic education. English teachers only by improving their qualities and the levels can keep pace with the current educational reform.In the document of "Decision of the state council on the reform and development of basic education" it firstly introduced the concept of "Teachers’education"."Teachers’ education" is defined as the generic terms of teachers’training."Teachers’education" refers to the different stages according to the development of teachers’profession, under the guidance of the idea of life-long education, then it considers and designs the pre-position, in-position and after-position training of teachers comprehensively and overall. Modern teachers’education should guide the autonomous development and ongoing innovative. Teachers’autonomous development is teachers’professional development which is based on the demand and reality of individual development. They determine the goals of development, develop resources, design strategies of development and evaluate the results of development by themselves.Take Xinyang City as an example, this thesis analyzes present situation of teachers’ education, then the author comes up with some some appropriate suggestions in terms of the outstanding problems. Chapter one is introduction. It mainly introduces background of research. Chapter two is literature review. The author firstly put forward the teachers’ autonomous development theory, then compares the current research of teachers’ education both in China and abroad. Chapter three is the investigation of current situation and analysis. The author firstly introduces the design and the results of the investigation. Then this thesis based on the theory of teachers’ autonomous development to analyze the present situation of middle school English teachers’ education in Xinyang City. Chapter four is empirical research with the trained teachers of "National training plan". The author combines with the relevant theoretical knowledge of subject and teaching and the scientific methods in research. Then the author conducts the research for the trained teachers of "National training plan" in our school. Through the comparison and analysis, we can find after training the consciousness of teachers’ autonomous development have an influence on teachers markedly. Chapter five is the suggestions of English teachers’ autonomous development. Chapter six is conclusion. The author gives a summary for contents of the research.
