Lecture method is the use of language teachers systematically transfer knowledge tostudents as a teaching method. It has a pivotal position in geography classroom teaching in themiddle school all the time. However, the new curriculum reform in the context of today,lecture method is criticized and reproached. In order to make people have a correctunderstanding and use of the lecture method in the middle school. This paper formulates theapplication of geography classroom teaching method, by the literature method, the method ofobservation and the interview method.First of all, explain that the historical background is the new curriculum reform in thecontext. And lecture method is criticized and reproached. Then analyze the cause of themisunderstanding for lecture method. And clarify the meaning and characteristics of lecturemethod, indicate that the lecture method in teaching high school plays an important role.Lecture method is one of teaching methods that the teachers transfer knowledge to studentsthrough the language of the method, It shows that there was a clear distinction with injectingteaching method, this is a prerequisite that teaches us to correctly understand and apply.Lecture method in the middle school geography class plays the role that other teachingmethods can not replace: lecture method is to play a leading role in teaching the importance ofthe path; is to help students master the knowledge of the basic method of the system; effectiveuse of other teaching methods is an important guarantee for; ideological and political course isto achieve the necessary means of moral functions.Secondly, detailed analyze problems of lecture method existing in the middle schoolgeography class. Lecture method in the implementation of the existence of such problems:one-way absorbed, ignored the dominant position of students. If lecture method would beused well, it is conducive to transform the new curriculum concept to teaching activity. TakeMiddle school geography teaching cases for example, summarizes the application strategy oflecture method.Finally, put forward the application strategies of teaching method in middle schoolgeography class. Mainly: combined with other teaching methods; combined with life practice; combined with modern multimedia technology; and combined with teaching art of teachers.It is trying to provide the reference for effective use of lecture method in middle schoolgeography class.
