The kindergarten sports games call for teachers’ support and guidance. They embark an important mission of improving children’s motor development, enhancing the physical quality and cultivating their good will quality, so whether teachers’ guidance in the sports games is good or not can influence children’s game experience directly or indirectly. Only under the effective guidance of teachers, can the sports games become a valuable activity which interests children and meets with their needs. This paper starts from the study of sports games’ value in children’s physical and mental healthy growth and development, and by analyzing the characteristics of sports games, it also explores the guiding strategy of kindergarten teachers and its suitability in the games.This paper mainly adopts the method of case study, and supplements itself with other methods such as observation and interview to collect activity videos and interview records and other related information. Therefore, on the basis of doing data, it analyzes and concludes the types of teachers’ guiding strategy and its application in kindergarten sports games.Teachers’ guiding strategy in kindergarten sports games has two types:verbal guiding strategy and nonverbal guiding strategy. The verbal guiding strategy can be divided into seven ways:explanations, descriptions, restatements, questions, suggestions, instructions and comments, and among which the strategies of explanations, comments, instructions and questions are often used; while the nonverbal guiding strategy can be divided into four ways:demonstrative movements, schematic movements, repetitive movements and illustrative movements, among which the strategies of demonstrative movements and schematic movements are mainly employed. Based on this analysis, the paper, with some specific cases, elaborates on various guiding strategies and their applications.On the basis of previous analysis, according to the characteristics of sports games, an investigation has been conducted on the suitability of kindergarten teachers’guiding strategy. First it aims at an overall grasp of the suitability, and the investigation criterion is whether the teachers’guiding strategy is beneficial to children’s physical and mental healthy growth and development. Then it is targeted at a discussion from the perspectives of motivating children’s interest and maintaining their subjectivity.Based on the analysis of kindergarten teachers’ guiding strategy and the investigation of its suitability, a conclusion can be drawn on teachers’effective guiding strategy in kindergarten sports game.
