Pattern exists in nature and our daily life and contacts with young children’s real life closely. A large number of studies have shown that pattern is considered important in mathematical learning and helpful to the development of children’s mathematical thinking. Taking action research as the main method, this research discusses teacher’s guiding strategies of preschooler’s patterning ability development that implement and adjust constantly on the basis of the proposed guidance strategies. As a result, feasible education plan will be formed to provide the reference model for teachers’ practice. This research includes the following four parts:The first part is the introduction. This part elaborates the selected topic reason, through carding the related literature which has been collected, discusses the theoretical and practical significance on implementing teacher’s guiding strategies of preschooler’s patterning ability development to provide theoretical basis for the research in this paper.The second part is the research design. This part includes research content,research purpose,research ideas, methods, research preparation as well as the research objects and participants.The third part is the research process. This part discusses teacher’s guiding strategies of preschooler’s patterning ability development. Through having a pretest for children of 4-5 years who are involved in this research and who accept no intervention, the pattern ability development can be understood to put forward the guiding strategy plan which includes games, verbal guidance, task cards and regional material put in,and to implement specific guiding strategies in the area of activity. Through the recycling process of implementation, reflection and adjustment, guidance strategy plan has been improved continuously. After post testing the children of the two groups, results show that the implementation of the four strategies promote the development of the preschooler’s patterning ability development.The fourth part is reflection and suggestion. This part shows four kinds of strategies can promote the development of preschooler’s pattern replication, pattern extension and pattern create. By using strategies,related suggestions are put forward to continue to improve teachers’ level of guiding strategies, improve their professional quality and enhancing the reflection ability of guidance process, provide support forpatterning activities and do the family-kindergarten cooperation to carry out patterning avtivities.
