| On the background of the growing aging problem and Chinese economic and social transition,endowment insurance system of China is facing new problems and more pressure. In particular, therapid growth of elderly population makes it difficult to pay the pension funds, which may lead to apayments crisis. Therefore, it is one of alternative solutions to extend the retirement age. All along, theretirement age is one of the hot topics in academic discussion. Retirement age policy closely related toendowment insurance system, employment and macro economy, so we need evaluate the effects ofpolicy which may affect the development of economy and society.At the same time, the international economic and political environment is also quite complex,especially in the slow growth of international economy, which will have negative effects on economicgrowth of China. Recently, the employment situation is more severe, and it is significant to balance theendowment insurance system and employment. It must be carefully considered that extending theretirement age would worsen the employment situation and if not would increase the risk of pensionpayment, which is a dilemma. So, unlike developed countries, China’s adjustment on the retirement ageneeds depend on reality and straighten out the relationship between different interest groups, by whichwe can explore the appropriate institutional arrangements and policies.In view of that, the study analyses on the relationship between extending retirement age andendowment insurance system. Firstly, through the current situation analysis of statutory retirement ageand endowment insurance system, this paper finds out the existing problems. Then, from both positiveand negative aspects, the paper illustrates the correlations between extending retirement age andendowment insurance system. At last, the study concluded that it is essential to extend retirement age,and provides ways to policies design and puts forward measures based on the research results. |
