With the rapid development of the society, lifelong learning is necessary to everyone, and the primary way of lifelong learning is informal learning. At the same time with the advent of information era, the Internet also has a huge influence on people’s learning, it makes everyone into the network have equal access to all kinds of education resources. The development of network education start with the correspondence education, to broadcasting television education, and now has reached modern distance education. Under the background of rapid development in network education, virtual learning community arises, and is more and more widely used.This paper first analyzes the research background, and then arranges the related theory about informal learning and virtual learning community, and next takes "China education" blog for example, analyzing qualitatively and quantitatively the guiding role of virtual learning community in teachers’teaching and management. From "China education" blog, the author chose six parts:"The head teacher column","teachers’ sharing","teaching reconsidering","teaching experience"," front-line teaching" and "teacher growth", and chose the articles from February1st,2014to February28th,2014. And at last, on the basis of practice, the author summarizes the research’s conclusion, presents the problems found during the research and the deficiency of the research, points out the direction of trying and improving, and put forward the prospect.This thesis consists of five chapters:Chapter one shows Introduction. It mainly introduces the research background, research status at home and abroad in relevant parties of virtual learning community, the significance, content and research methods, and emphasizes the importance of the research.Chapter two arranges the related theory about informal learning and virtual learning community through literature survey, defines the concept of informal learning and virtual learning community, elaborates the features, typical forms, the effect and influence to teachers’growth of the informal learning, the elements, characteristics, function of virtual learning community, and the promoting effect of virtual learning community to the informal learning.Chapter three introduces the platform example of virtual learning community-"China education" blog, analyzes quantitatively the amount of posts and reading, and points out the effect and function of virtual learning community to teachers. From "China education" blog, the author chose six parts:"The head teacher column","teachers’ sharing","teaching reconsidering","teaching experience"," front-line teaching" and "teacher growth", and chose the articles from February1st,2014to February28th,2014.Chapter four analyzes qualitatively the related articles, points out the guiding role of virtual learning community in teachers’teaching and management. From "China education" blog, the author chose six parts:"The head teacher column","teachers’ sharing","teaching reconsidering","teaching experience"," front-line teaching" and "teacher growth", and chose the articles from February1st,2014to February28th,2014.Chapter five gives summation and prospect. It summarizes the research and puts forward the prospect.
