Physical quality is the fundamental capability of human muscles and also the comprehensive reflection about the functions of each human organ systems when muscles work, on which human depends closely in daily life and learning. Physical education with various training programs and methods aims to improve physical quality of students and allow them to have a healthy body to better adapt social life. Recently, as the18th National Congress advocates conducting full implementation of quality education and deepening the reform in all fields of education, physical education in school has gained more attention."Exercise one hour a day" has prevailed in primary and junior high schools in rural areas, which plays a vital role in enhancing the physical quality of those students. It echoes the idea of "7+1>8" proposed by many experts."Exercise one hour a day" will have a huge influence on the development of students’ intellectual education.This paper takes the students of seven classes in a third-year Junior High school from Xianfeng, Hubei province for example and analyses, strength, speed, endurance, sensitivity and flexibility, the five factors of physical quality. The tests are conducted by gender in the following five projects spring-grip,100m,1000m/800m,4xl0m shuttle run, and the sit and reach. The paper compares and analyses the test results and the final examination results of those students in second half of the semester in2013. The analysis shows the relationship between physical quality and intellectual education, which provides data support and theoretical basis for the development of quality-oriented education and physical health education.By analyzing the survey results, the following conclusions:(1) academic excellence of the students, their physical fitness in general is excellent. Especially in the sensitive and flexibility quality seems particularly prominent.(2) the poor academic performance of students, most of their physical fitness is relatively weak.100M run and the sit and reach, the gap is particularly prominent.(3) physical fitness can affect the development of academic achievement. Results of the survey show that:the relationship between physical fitness and academic performance tends to a proportional. Because of the relationship between physical fitness and academic achievement above, it is proposed the following:(1) as a school, to the development of student-centered, attaches great importance to students’physical fitness, the physical education (PE) and cultural education as important as work.(2) As a teacher, need changing concepts of education, updating educational concepts, enhance their understanding, more conducive to the improvement of students ’physical fitness students’cultural knowledge.(3) In the classroom, physical education teachers and students to build a new relationship, the implementation of a variety of teaching methods, learning to mobilize students to participate in sports, students develop self-awareness exercises.
