In recent years, with our school students’ quality declining, class management and teaching have become more and more difficult, therefore teachers’ sense of achievement gets lower and lower, students are also more and more unconfident and it is hard for them to acquire the joy brought by success. Thus the vicious circle formed resulting in the constant decline of the overall education quality of our school. How to change the current situation to help the school get out of the trouble? Under the guidance of education concepts of the new curriculum, this study finds that striving to construct harmonious classes is an important way. This study takes an ordinary high school, Yang Xianyi Middle School of Zhongshan city which has difficulty in obtaining high quality students due to objective factors, as example. It discussed the question of how high schools with weak source of students can build harmonious classes, aiming to provide ideas and methods for similar schools to manage classes.This thesis is composed of five parts.The first part is the introduction that clarifies the theme of the study, defines the scope of this study and research methods. Moreover, it studies relevant literature, which provides knowledge basis for the study.The second part takes an ordinary high school, Yang Xianyi Middle School of Zhongshan city which has difficulty in obtaining high quality students due to objective factors, as example and analyses the current situation of class construction by means of questionnaires and interviews etc. This part also analyses the condition of class construction from the perspective of overall evaluation, comparison and concerns of class construction.The third part gives a detailed analysis of main problems existing in class construction of Yang Xianyi Middle School. It turns out that students are lack of vivid experience and practice, efforts on the construction of class cultures are insufficient, the cohesion of the class is not strong, effects of class management is poor.The forth part analyses the reasons for main problems existing in class construction of Yang Xianyi Middle School. The main reasons can be listed as follows. Firstly, teachers’ concepts on education are traditional. Secondly, teachers ignore the education functions of class culture. Lastly, students lack identities on their classes, and some of the head teachers has low level of management.The fifth part proposes strategies of constructing harmonious classes. It explains strategies of constructing harmonious classes, main norms of forming harmonious classes and the system of evaluating harmonious classes...
