Juvenile delinquency has been growing a severe social issue in China in recent years. Crimescommitted by teenagers are increasing year by year and are becoming more diverse and malicious. A large portion of the teenagers are the ones in single-parent families. The issues in single-parent families do harm to the teenagers psychologically. With the influence of social unhealthy factors, many teenagers in single-parent families commit crimes, which have become a serious problem. As a special group of society, their crimes have their own characteristics and complexity. Combined with the physical and mental characteristics of the teenagers in single-parent families, the causes of crime are analyzed in this paper. Based on China’s national conditions and present status of crime, as well as some specific cases, the characteristics and special reasons of crimes committed by minors in single-parent families are presented.
