In July1952, under the leadership of the Nasser, Egypt Free Officers Organizationlaunched the revolution. They deposed the dynasty of Muhammad Ali and built up bourgeoisrepublic. For the drastic reforms by Nasser, the development of Egypt opened a new era.Under the influence of the socialism nationalization policy, the education and employment ofEgyptian women got the unprecedented development, and great changes had taken place inthe women’s ideology and social role. Nasser had opened up a new era of development forEgyptian women. Education and employment played an important role in improving women’sstatus. However, why Egyptian Women’s ideology and social role changed and how tochanged, studying the education and employment issues of women in Nasser’s Egypt willfind the answer.This paper is divided into three parts, the first two parts mainly discusses the educationand employment issues of women in Nasser’s Egypt. By briefly comparing the education andemployment issues of women in Nasser’s Egypt with the issues in the history of Egypt, wecould draw a conclusion that the great development of the education and employment issuesof women in Nasser’s Egypt. Even so, there were still problems, in the face of newdevelopmental issues, a series of new measures to the education and employment issues ofwomen had been made.The author had pay a consideration to the education and employment issues of women inNasser’s Egypt in the third part of this paper. As a great Muslim nation in the Middle East,Egypt divorced religion from government In Nasser’s era, however, the Islam had penetratedinto the Egyptians’ minds and their daily life, and affected people’s perception of women’seducation and employment. In addition to Islam, traditional concepts and social gender alsoaffected the development of education and employment of Egyptian women. During thedeveloping process of the society and history, Women’s rights Consciousness is aroused withthe development of Women’s Rights Campaign. Egypt had different feminist perspective ofeast and west. Feminists with different feminist perspective solved the problem of women’seducation and promoted the rate of employment actively. Publicizing and implementation of education and employment policies by the government aspire women for education andindependent. More and more women found jobs and served for economy, they played animportant role in society. In the public sphere, some women replaced men’s leadershippositions; in the family field, some women support their families. Redefining the women’srole was a hot topic in Nasser’s era.Combining the development of education and employment of women in Nasser’s Egyptwith different feminist perspective of east and west, the author analyzed the Egyptianwomen’s issues in Nasser’s era from Marxist philosophy in the ending part. Based on Marxistphilosophy, hoping to explore similarities of feminist perspective of east and west forcooperation. Feminist from east and west could learn together and exchange idea to find out abetter way to solve the women’s issues.
