Content:With the development of the education theory and education progress, teachers andeducation experts are increasingly aware of the importance of education theory in teachingdesign. How to integrate various education and teaching design of learning theory, how toimprove the teaching effect, how to make the students learn more effectively, all of the abovequestions arouse the attention of teachers and education experts, they all pay more attention tothese problems. As a branch of cognitive psychology,both of the characteristics andadvantages of the constructivism theory are widely recognized by more teachers and scholars.Constructivism emphasizes the student-centered. The teacher acts as facilitator,participant and supporters in the teaching process. In order to promote students’ understandingof knowledge and meaning, the teacher uses many ways, such as the creation of context,participate in the session and other methods.English, as a practical subject, both the English teaching and learning are very suitablefor the learning theory of constructivism.Under the guidance of constructivism, with the help of a certain situation, through activeparticipant of the cooperation, the students can gradually completed the construction of theknowledge meaning. Studying on the application of constructivist learning theory in Englishcan help teachers make the teaching design, promote cooperation among students and renewthe teacher-student interaction teaching concept. Under the circumstance, learners canactively construct meaning to get the knowledge of English, improve the interest in learningEnglish, and encourage the students to speak English, let students learn English actively andapply for it.In this paper, the author starts from the origin and development of constructivism,combines it with my own teaching practice, analysis the current situation of English learning,compares before and after the experiment. In the end, we can find the efficiency of students’learning, no matter which teaching method we use, whether it is anchored instruction designvalidation, design of scaffolding instruction or random into effective teaching design. The theory of Constructivism meets the spirits of the English teaching reform ofsecondary vocational school, adding new content to the traditional English Teaching andprovides a new way to English teaching design. At the same time, it can provide the studentswith a new learning theory, they can even get rid of the habit of passive acceptance ofknowledge. In the meantime, they can learn more and can learn it more positively. |
