The principal is the organizer and executor of the school management, and also it is the guide of the elementary education curriculum reform. It plays an important role in school’s development if the principal has a correct understanding of their own roles. The roles of headmaster are catching more attention with the deepening of elementary education curriculum reform. Although the principal has a preliminary understanding about the role-changing in school field and it makes some achievements by taking measures, unprofessional knowledge, shortcomings of school’s management and the individual vision are hindered transformation in depth, in addition, influencing the development of elementary education curriculum reform.This research is regarding the primary school principal as a research object which aims to describe the status quo and find some problems in order to put forward effective suggestions to the role-changing of principal. According to the research purpose, this paper selects primary school Y in C as a case study, collected and sorted out the material by means of literature, interviewing, participant observation and literature analysis.The author puts forward strategies of role-changing based on the analysis of school. Firstly, we have to rethinking the whole reform by initiative choice in place of passive ones. Secondly, we should overcome obstacles and do initiatives leading, in addition, pay more attention to learning and communication. Finally, we can combine the rigid system with flexible system to make sure the role-changing successfully done.
