Since the 1970s, researchers at home and abroad have never stopped investigating the causes of learning difficulty, classifying those students with learning difficulty from different angles, with the purpose of transforming them, and summarizing various experience and methods. But some theories and experience are relatively scattered, not systematic, and some do not conform to the new thoughts and ideas of the new curriculum reform, as they seldom involve the learning difficulty of senior high school students, especially the learning difficulty of Senior 1 students.The exploration of systematic theories about the cohesion of junior and senior high school English teaching and scientific strategies on how to take effective measures to help them overcome the difficulty remain to be researched and enhanced.On the basis of grasping the concept of the new curriculum standard, trying to get the essence of the existing related theories, through questionnaire surveys, informal discussions and personal interviews, etc. established in the actual learning situations, this thesis researches the actualities of the current high school English learning, veritably realizes different kinds of their puzzles in English learning, contrasts and analyzes every learning stage before and after transforming them, and actively explores and reflects on the internal and external causes, as well as the extent and development tendency, targeting for effective ways to transform the students with learning difficulty. With special focus and aims, we try to have a further research and practice exploration of effective measures to link up junior and senior high school English teaching and help those senior students with learning difficulty overcome the obstacles in front of themThe thesis is divided into seven chapters. The first chapter of introduction expounds the definition of those students with learning difficulty, the problems that have caused them, the importance of paying close attention to them, and the researching background and significance of writing this thesis; The second chapter introduces general situations about domestic and foreign research into the problems with those students with learning difficulty; The third chapter is mainly about the theoretical basis of research on those students with learning difficulty in senior high school; The fourth chapter analyzes the existence of English learning difficulty, the types and characteristics of those students with learning difficulty and the internal and external formation causes; The fifth chapter discusses the countermeasures of transforming those students with learning difficulty including exploiting their development potential, cultivating their good non-intelligence factors, regular family visits, talking with them timely according to the emotion principle; The sixth chapter states the purpose, object, process, tools and methods of the related teaching experiment, analyzes and verifies the effectiveness of the experimental results and transforming strategies, related case analysis included; The last chapter includes conclusion and enlightenment, and analyzes the revelation to the whole senior high school English teaching. The limitations are also mentioned.
