With the development of technology, it becomes a key factor in promoting social development and reflecting the strength of our country. Thus, technology education plays a more important role in society. Currently, the international science education has gradually evolved into science education and technology education, which challenge our primary science curriculum, that is, how to help students understand science and technology in science courses, how to integrate technology education content into science courses, and the amount of it. Concerning to the similarity between American science courses and Chinese science courses, the analysis of the technology in American science textbooks, will be beneficial to the combination of technology and science in Chinese science education.According to "The United States National Science Education Standards "," science curriculum standards in China (3-6)", and " Standards for Technological Literacy: Content for the Study of Technology (3-5)", technology education contents are summarized,and the analysis framework is formed. Based on the framework, the technology content in American science textbooks are calculated and analyzed.The result shows that, American science textbooks pay more attention to the combination of science and technology, and there are a lot technology education contents in every aspect. As to the combination forms, it is diverse, especially in the process of problem-solving. The propotion of technology education contents rises to50.28%, which is high in the textbooks. It always mixes with science, which shows that it tends to combine science with technology. The distribution of the elements of technology education is comprehensive, but not in balance. Technical knowledge is up to53.36%, which ranks to the first, technical capabilities follow to the technical knowledge. The propotion is up to31.80%.The proportion of technical awareness is10.78%. At the bottom is technical attitude, which is only4.06%. This unbalanced proportion was likely to take the physiological and psychological characteristics of primary students into account. To primary students, the mastery of technical knowledge is the basis of the formation of technical literacy. Abilities, attitude and awareness can be penetrated in the knowledge, especially the attitudes and awareness, which are formed imperceptibly, require a higher comprehensive literacy.
