A Study Of The History Subject In College Entrance Examinations Between Cross-Strait

When it comes into the21st century, both sides of the Taiwan Strait(Mainland China and Taiwan) have already launched a new round of curriculum reforms. Meanwhile, more and more focus has been paid on the teaching of history as well as the college entrance exams. In this article, the central point is the history subject in college entrance exams.We will get the conclusions by making comprehensive comparisons between the paper of history subject in college entrance exams in Shanghai and in Taiwan district between2009-2013.We will compare the contents of these exams and figure out the advantages from both sides.This article is divided into four sections. In section one, I will briefly introduce the objectives of this article as well as the methodologies I applied during the research. Also, I will give a broad view of how similar subjects were studied before. In section two, I will introduce the development process of the college entrance exams in Mainland China and Taiwan. In section three, I will compare the exam papers in the recent years. I will give the differences between the exam papers from both sides in the aspects of objectives, scopes, formats and characteristics of the exams. In section four, I will give conclusions and ideas both in the aspects of college entrance exam reforms and topics in the history subject.In this article, the history subject in college entrance exams in Mainland China and Taiwan is well studied. The reforms in college entrance exams in both side is introduced. And a preliminary comparison of the topics and trends between the exam papers in both side is conducted. I hope the ideas from this article can be a reference to the college entrance exams reforms in Mainland China. At the same time, I hope it could provide a sort of brand-new thinking of how to decide the topics in the history exams in the next phases.
