Recently, researches on overweight or obese adolescents’ exercise behavior have increased. However, researches based on established theories to analyse psychological impact factor for overweight or obese adolescent are relatively rare. Concerned, studied and validated by scholars form multidisciplinary, stage change model has gradually established since1979. Based on stage change model, the purpose of this paper is to investigate the distribution of exercise stage for normal-weight, overweight and obese adolescent, and to definite psychological factor impacting exercise stage transition of overweight and obese adolescent. We hope this paper could provide specific psychological intervention suggestions to encourage overweight and obese adolescent situating in different exercise stages to take part in physical activity positively.Focused on time and region, we read and analyse literature carefully. Then, we designed our paper. This paper adopted revised scale to investigate normal weight, overweight, and obese adolescents’ exercise stage by cross-sectional and tracking studies. Using specific mathematical statistics analyse the research problems. This paper gets under results:(1) the mean of exercise stages distribution for normal weight adolescent is higher than overweight adolescent, while overweight adolescent is higher than obese adolescent.(2) During four monthes, the change of normal weight adolescents’exercise stage is not obvious, while overweight and obese adolescents’ exercise stage has increased. However, the highest point of their exercise stage distribution is lower than normal weight adolescent.(3) For overweight and obese adolescent, psychological factor impacting transition from precontemplation to contemplation stage is reinforcement management; Psychological factors impacting transition from contemplation to preparation stage are pros, cons, consciousness raising and helping relationships; Psychological factors impacting transition from preparation to action stage are self-efficacy, environment-reevaluation, social liberation and helping relationships; Psychological factors impacting transition from action to maintenance stage are dramatic relief, self-reevaluation, self-liberation, stimulus control and counterconditioning. This paper gets under conclusions:(1) The reliability and validity of revised stage change scale for adolescent meet psychometric standard. It can be used as a measure tool for studying exercise stage change and its psychological impact factors.(2) For overweight and obese adolescent, we should use specific psychological intervention means to encourage them to take part in physical activity positively. For overweight and obese adolescent situating precontemplation stage, we could explain the physical and psychological benefits of exercise for them, eliminate the conception of exercise cons, and establish a system of commendation and reward.(3) For overweight and obese adolescent situating contemplation stage, we could also interpret the physical and psychological benefits of exercise for them. Besides that, raising consciousness and giving support are good ideas. The support includes material help, such as providing sport equipments, and spiritual help, such as spoken encouragement.(4) For overweight and obese adolescent situating preparation stage, we could raise their consciousness. Giving support is also worth to pay attention. Most importantly, we should confirm their self-confidence to exercise.(5) For overweight and obese adolescent situating action stage, the way encouraging them to exercise positively are complicated. It is suggested that don’t neglect raising their consciousness, giving support and reward, and establishing reminder. Lastly, preventing exercise stage from dropping, it is recommended that overweight and obese adolescent situating in maintenance stage should not break off exercise behavior.
