Design And Development Of E-Textbooks For The Ipad Based On The Multimedia Screen Theory

In2013, New American Media Coalition issued a "Horizon Report",which pointed out that six information technologies would impact on higher education in the next five years. Tablet PC which is closely related to daily life and large-scale online courses are on the list. In the past two years, educators all over the world have been fascinated by the Tablet PC and most talked about series of Apple’s iPad Tablet PC. Tablet PC is a new high-tech portable mobile devices which is a collection of laptops, pc machine and smart phone’s related functions. You can download the massive application softwares in many fields such as education, health, art, architecture, life and so on. It will bring a lot of conveniences to our learning and daily life in every time.Upgrade in education is inseparable from the support of science and technology. The traditional books will be replaced by e-Textbooks sooner or later. Compared to traditional paper materials, e-Textbooks are providing a greater variety of teaching methods, saving resources and printing costs, which have greater storage, portability and other advantages. Compared with general e-Textbooks, the e-Textbooks for the iPad in addition to passing the exact teaching contents, how to produce a good user experience is teaching designers need to focus on one aspect. The goal to e-textbooks for iPad is that learners can complete learning contents in a pleasant and relaxed state.This requires the design of the materials must meet the teaching goals, accurately pass, and can produce a good user experience. The e-textbooks for iPad is just the initial stage in our country. And its process of design and development has no clear basis for reference.Focused on the development of e-Textbooks at home and abroad, and after a lot of researches on the basis of the literatures, this research studies the e-Textbooks, the multimedia screen theory as well as iPad, and discusses the design and development process of the e-Textbooks for iPad based on the multimedia screen theory. I design and develop an e-Textbook of "Developmental Psychology" course.
