In recent years, mobile learning resource’s scarcity as a study in depth the impact of Open Education is becoming increasingly prominent bottleneck, how to build and application the high quality, effect mobile learning resources, to make it become one kind which anytime, anywhere, on-demand access to information and resources that using for students has become an urgent need to study problems. With the Apple’s products of iPad released, iPad as a medium to develop electronic materials for the construction of educational information and mobile learning resources indicate a new direction. Through the analysis of a large number of documents to sort out, it has very important significance to promotion and application of e-learning materials in the Open Education. Currently, however, application of domestic electronic textbooks in higher education are very few, and also about the Open Education’s thinking is an blank aspects. Therefore, it’s prove that the question of research iPad electronic textbooks in the Open Education for the promotion and application, has some theoretical significance and practical value.This article first definition the concept and characteristics of iPad electronic textbook, at the same time do a study about current situation of domestic and foreign iPad electronic textbooks. We elaborate the necessityof applying iPad electronic textbooks in The Open Education on teaching characteristics 、 characteristics of students and the lack of teaching resources these three aspects. Second, using the method of literature research and questionnaire to research, the questionnaire that compiled by the innovation diffusion theory’s perspective faced to the teachers and students, for the iPad electronic textbooks in the open education of promotion application feasibility probleminvestigation, statistics and analysis, the conclusions of the investigation has certain feasibility for application of iPad electronic textbooks in open education, providing a scientific basis for the popularization and application of iPad electronic textbooks of open education in the future. But the iPad electronic textbooks in the open education of application also has a certain obstacle, that need to be solved in subsequent research.According to China’s national conditions, learning the experience of domestic and abroad through the relevant literature references, we put forward some suggestions about the application of i Pad electronic textbooks in the Open Education in order to make the further promotion and application of iPad electronic textbooks in the Open Education, including improvement of iPad electronic textbooks itself perfect, teachers’ demonstration of popularization and application, conform the characteristics of the Open Education, change the students’ reading habits, accelerate the reform of teaching mode, improve the teachers’ research level and create the environment of electronic textbooks.Through this study, not only to promote the popularization and application in the iPad electronic textbooks in the Open Education, but also to provide guidance for the development and use of reference of Open Education mobile learning resources, thus promoting the process of education information, to make the mobile learning, lifelong learning, create the learning society become possible.
