Principal training needs the correct values as a guide. The principal training value-orientation possesses the practice character. Its prominent role is to determine and control the principal training subject on value choice, embodied in the choice of the setting of the principal training objectives and the training content, and the choice of training patterns. The study presents and concludes the main current principal training value-orientations and describes its theoretical basis, further discusses the connotation of the principal training value-orientation as well as the advantages and disadvantages of the main performance according to the practice of principal training. The value-orientation of principal training in our country mainly includes the value-orientation of people-oriented, the value-orientation of problem-based, the value-orientation of emphasizing the actions reflect, and the value-orientation of experience sharing. Basing on the different value orientations, the principal training performance in reality is also different. Finally, the study explores the development trends of principal training value-orientation according to the changes in principal training policies and training needs.This paper consists of five parts. The first part mainly explains the origin of the principal training value> the defining research methods, as well as related core concepts. The second part is the research overview about principal training values, including the conception of values, the definition of principal training value-orientation, and the research overview of the principal training value orientation in recent years, and further combs and sums up the main principal training value-orientation in our country. The third part mainly describes the theoretical basis content, the strengths and weaknesses of different principal training value-orientation. The fourth part explores the performance of different principal training value-orientation on training target, training content and training methods through the analysis of the practice of principal training in recent years. The fifth part explores the trends of principal training value orientation based on the changing of the principal training policy and the principal training needs in our country. The principal training policy puts more emphasis on the people-oriented value-orientation, the principals’ training needs are more diverse, and they need to learn practical knowledge. Therefore, the principal training value orientation should be more emphasized on people-oriented value-orientation, need highlight the practical orientation, and present the development trend of diversification in the future.
