With the popularization of higher education and further development of collage entrance examination, the admission system of university attracts more and more attention. How to build and utilize multi-assessment system as comprehensive assessment for students’ knowledge and creative capability becomes the focus of current society. As a part of the college entrance examination reform, the multi-assessment system plays an important role for the reform of college entrance examination.In this paper, the theoretical basis of cognitive psychology and learning assessment have been sorted out. By sorting out the theoretical foundation, the scientific theory of students’ ability and assessment of knowledge. especially for assessment of students’ creative ability has been found. Meanwhile, this paper summarizes the assessment methods for learning which are currently used. and provide s the theoretical basis for the content below.This paper analyzes and makes examples of assessment systems of independent recruitment in China and the U.S. college respectively through two chapters.Firstly, the status quo of assessment system of independent recruitment in China has been analyzed. which includes the following aspects:The first part is the goal of research university to independently recruit students; The second part is procedures and admission indicators of research college; The third part is the main learning assessment methods of research college used. Stone carved can be tuned into jade. In order to improve our multi-assessment system of independent recruitment in research university, this paper will seek advises to the United States. This paper analyzes the comprehensive assessment system of independent recruitment in research university in American systematically, and summarizes the goals of training of assessment, assessment indicators and main assessment methods of learning.by way of exampling American research universities. It is hard to use assessment methods of independent recruitment to evaluate the creative ability of students effectively, but to use indirect methods of evaluating the ability of mastering knowledge is a good choice.By discussing and analyzing the theories of knowledge and creation included in cognitive psychology, this paper obtains that there is the positive correlation between creative ability and good structure of knowledge, then how to indirectly evaluate student’s creative ability has been studied.By comparing assessment systems of independent recruitment in China and the U.S, this paper summarizes the characteristics and limitation of assessment systems of independent recruitment in China research university. On the basis of comprehensive assessment system of independent recruitment in American research university, the idea of perfecting multi-assessment system of independent recruitment in China has been enlightened, and suggestions about that also have been put forward in this paper. At the same time, according to the reform of college entrance examination recently, the development tendency of independent recruitment in China has been analyze as well as consummating assessment system.
