The technology education aims to improve students’ basic skills and develop students’technology literacy.It has attracted more and more public attention.To make technologyeducation develop into general education becomes the consensus of many countries.In theUK,America and Australia, technology education development has entered a newstage.Compared to these countries,China has not formed a complete technology curriculumsystem and checked the education effect after technology curriculum was scheduled inschools.China suffers disappointments in promoting technology education.It’s time for us tolearn from the UK,America and Australia.Research methods mainly used in this paper are literature analysis, online survey andcomparative study. This paper consists six chapters including a preface,and the main ideaincludes three parts.Firstly,it presents four countries’ technology education development processin elementary and secondary schools, and the status of technology scheduled as a learning areaor national curriculum.Then,it analyzes the characteristics and summarizes our experience andshortcomings.Some achievements have made in the Information Technology Education,but theLabor and Technology Education gradually disappears from the school curriculum, and theGeneral Technology Curriculum is in shortage of teaching resources. Because of the lack of aunified reference standard system, and the inadequate supervision on curriculum implementationand real curriculum evaluation, there is no way to check the effect of technology education,andcurriculum reform faces severe situation.Finally, it focuses on the analysis of Chinese situationand the status of curriculum evaluation conducted by these countries.For us, a programmaticdocument of technology education should be enacted,and the national curriculum standardsshould be revised and updated, but also various concepts and measures strengtheningexamination-oriented teaching should be reformed.Importantly,the requirements of qualityeducation should be completely implemented in the curriculum structure, and it’s time toimprove the technology curriculum evaluation and to complete comprehensive evaluation of theeducation quality in elementary and secondary schools.This paper starts from a national perspective, in such a high starting point, the internationaldevelopment tendency can be fully grasped.Combining foreign experience with Chinese status,itputs forward strategies to create a good environment,and form a perfect education system, andpromote the curriculum implementation and evaluation to change on a large scale, and achieve acomprehensive quality education.
