As smart home provides security and convenience that human has neverexperienced, so it is inevitable that smart home is greeted enthusiastically by market andthe common people alike, and becoming research hotspot around the world. The quickdevelopment of embedded technology efficiently realizes functions of smart home, andat the same time lowers research cost, reduces research time and emerges wonderfulmarket prospect and application values.This paper analyzes the history and characteristics of the development of thesmart home system and the overall architecture of the system is designed. According tothe requirements of the overall design of the program, the system selects the S3C2440ARM9embedded processor as the core control chip, builds a linux-based embeddeddevelopment environment, chooses the Linux2.4.18kernel version and YAFFS filesystem, and finish the building and design of the peripheral hardware circuit andsoftware platform.As for the hardware system, the module circuit is designed based on the needs ofthe system. Taking ARM9as a control module core, GPRS and handset moduleconstitutes a communication module. ZigBee wireless network builds informationchannel between the control module and household electrical appliances. The sensormodule detects the home environment and passes the data to the control module. Inaddition, LCD modules, power modules and voice alarm module are also designed. Thecorresponding software system platform is also established. Software design and itsgraphical interface are based on Qt. The software design includes data processing, filesystem production, Linux kernel cutting transplantation and the hardware drivers andapplications. Finally, the hardware and software systems are tested. The results achievedby the test shows that the system basically meets the design requirements, but theanti-interference ability and level of security in wireless sensor networks, multi-pointmonitoring and smart functions and multi-camera interface should be future researchedand perfected.The experiment results indicated that the system designed in this thesis realized basic functions of smart home. Embedded system based remote control system of smartplay has exclusive advantages in power dissipation, volume, functions, and extendibility,so it has a wide development prospect.
