| Agriculture is both the foundation and the basic material production departmentof national economy. Agriculture plays an important role in province and thedevelopment of agriculture has great effect on the overall level of the whole economy.As agriculture is "the investment-driven" industry, the scale of agricultural investmentis directly related to agricultural production conditions. If agricultural productionconditions have been improved, agricultural economic income and agriculturaleconomic efficiency will also be increased. This paper uses Shaanxi province as theobject to study how to improve the efficiency of agricultural investment. According tothe actual situation of Shaanxi province, this paper uses Malmqulst index and DEAmodel to learn the overall level of the agricultural investment efficiency in ShanxiProvince and also to analyze the regional efficiency in each area. After this, this paperuses Tobit model to analyze the factors that influence the efficiency of agriculturalinvestment. Meanwhile, the present situation and trend of agricultural investment inShaanxi province are also analyzed to find out the exiting problems and create a goodenvironment for the development of agricultural economy.Based on the theories of agricultural investment, efficiency, economic growthand other relevant theories, firstly this paper analyzes the present situation ofgovernment investment and farmer investment in Shaanxi province; then, uses thedata envelopment analysis (DEA) method and the Malmquist index method to analyzeagricultural investment efficiency dynamically and the result shows that technologyprogress is the main power for agricultural investment growth in Shaanxi. Finally, this research uses Tobit model to test the influencing factors of agricultural investment inShaanxi and concludes that the ratio of agricultural production price and agriculturalmanufacturing data price is one of the main factors that influence the improvement ofagricultural investment efficiency; improving farmers’ cultural level is one of theeffective means to improve agricultural investment efficiency; family per capitaincome has no significant influence on agricultural investment efficiency; ratio ofmoney-to-lab has great influence on agriculture investment; the affected area hasnegative influence on agricultural investment efficiency.This paper provides the following policy recommendations to improveagricultural investment efficiency in Shaanxi province: firstly, strengthen the subjectstatus of farmers and encourage farmers’ investment; Secondly, cultivate multiplesubjects of agricultural investment and improve the rural financial service system;Thirdly, the government should pay more attention on agricultural investment andincrease government investment intensity; Fourthly, strengthen the construction ofcultural undertakings and improve the farmers’ cultural quality; Finally, strengthenagriculture science and technology innovation and improve agricultural infrastructureconstruction. |
