When this valuable and scarce knowledge is shared, the knowledge returnees can truly become the core competitiveness of the organization and realize their value. How can the knowledge returnees share their advanced knowledge within the organization? This is the focused problem in the field of knowledge management. In recent years, scholars introduced social capital into the study of knowledge sharing, they discovered that there was a close relationship between social capital and knowledge sharing. So we examine the impact of individual social capital on knowledge sharing intention and the mediation of tacit knowledge through the survey of knowledge returnees.Based on the previous researches and related theories, we established relational model between social capital and knowledge sharing intention and proposed7hypotheses, then we conducted a questionnaire survey of216returnees in Shanghai, through the data processing and analysis, we had the conclusions:1. knowledge returnees’knowledge sharing intention is at a low level, their social capital in the organization is also not so rich.2. Social capital has a significant impact on knowledge sharing intention. The interaction degree outside work, cognitive trust, shared vision, common language have significant positive impacts on knowledge sharing intention.3. The tacit knowledge mediates the impact of shared vision and common language on knowledge sharing intention, but it does not mediate the relation between other factors of social capital and knowledge sharing intention. The conclusions of this study further confirm the role of social capital in the field of knowledge sharing, and also provide suggestions to rich the social capital of knowledge returnees in the organization.
