With the rapid development of modern social economy, enterprises change increasingly fast,with a fierce competition between enterprises. The dramatic technology improvement andpersonalized and diverse needs has shortened product life cycle. Meanwhile, enterprises arefacing all aspects of pressure including increasing product quality, decreasing operation cost,improving service and shortening delivery cycle. The whole process, which was suitable in thepast, has been developed with many disadvantages at present. Thus, it is inevitable to optimizecurrent operational process.This paper summarizes domestic and international journals about supply chain managementand process improvement, understands the theory development of supply chain management andcurrent situation of process improvement. After that, this paper introduces relative theories aboutsupply chain management and process improvement.This paper starts from practice, with a study object of enterprise A, and optimizes operationprocess of A by utilizing supply chain management theory. Obeying basic principles of operationprocess improvement and following steps of implementation process, this paper describes themain operation process of enterprises A, finds the existing problems, analyses current problemsand sorts the basic reason. Then, mind storm and benchmarking learning methods are adopted,focusing on current problems of A, raises corresponding optimized plan. Finally, this paperevaluates this plan and raises supporting methods.After adopting improvement plans, A changed the past inventory manufacture method,strengthened the communication with clients, joined the R&D material. After receiving orders, Astarted to purchase product, strengthened the management of suppliers, and built the strategicrelationship with suppliers, decreased some sophisticated process and negotiation process in thepurchasing process, decreased the purchasing time of enterprises dramatically. In addition, thispaper optimized enterprise’s purchasing organization, enabling A could purchase at a lower costand decreased inventory with a swift responding.Hope this research could provide a direction and a way of thinking for relative small enterprises.
