Since1980s, with the process of reform and openness and urban industrialization,the redistribution of workforce has come into an active period. The enterprises employmigrating labors according to the law of market economy, and the population managingpolicy has been moderately loosened, thus more and more rural surplus labors flow todeveloped coastal areas. The migrating workers help create fortune for the wholesociety, increase income for countryside people, inject vitality into urban and ruraldevelopment, and make great contributions to the construction of country’smodernization. The itinerant employment of migrating workers has notablecharacteristics, which expresses a kind of repeating and unstable migration.Consequently, it is of great significance to do research on the extraordinary socialphenomenon of migrating workers’ itinerant employment, probe into factors ofinfluencing labors’ decisions on changes of occupations and working places, proposemeasures for promoting orderly flowing of migrating workers and relatively stableemployment, which are helpful for advancing the solution of migrating workers’employment.This thesis is based on the survey data of792migrating workers in ChongqingLongtousi Railway Station with the method of random interception. It concludes thatthe repeating flowing of migrating workers between urban and rural areas, differentvocations and districts is the result of rational decision after comparison betweenindividual’s or family’s cost and income under the restraint of policy, whose flowingmodel takes on characteristics of short term, circularity, and limitation. Simultaneously,this thesis starts from whether migrating workers search jobs itinerantly, employingLogistic Demonstration Regression Model and System Analysis Method, analyzes theinfluencing factors of migrating workers’ repeatedly itinerant employment frompersonal basic characteristics, income level, family characteristics, working experiencesand social factors,eventually raises countermeasures and suggestions, which includeimproving education level of rural population, steadily increasing migrating workers’income, establishing an urban-rural integrated labor market to lead migrating workers toflow in order, guaranteeing migrating workers’ legitimate interests of rest according tolaw, developing vocational education and strengthening job training in rural areas, andproviding equal public service and achieving stable employment of farmer.
