Development of solar cell technology can not only control the environmentalpollution, save fossil energy, but also can promote the economic growth, promote theimprovements of economic efficiency, promote the transformation of economicgrowth mode, and promote the adjustment of economic structure. But at present solartechnology development in our country is not optimistic. In this paper, we use thesolar cell technology as the research object, analysis based on the patent data and usethe Derwent patent index database as the data source. We do analyze from the view ofpresent development of technology, the future development of main technology andthe future development trends of overall technology. In this paper, we mainly use themethod of patent measurement and social network analysis. With the help of JAVA,SPSS, Excel, UCINET and other tools, we can get the results of data analysis andvisualization analysis, and we can also make the realization of finding theopportunities for sustainable development for China’s solar cell, and enhancing themarket competitiveness and countermeasures.Firstly, we use patent statistical method to analyze the overall development ofsolar cell technology, to understand the overall development situation of technology.We can find that the technology of global and major countries is in the stage of rapiddevelopment now. Secondly, we analyze the technology composition of solar cellfrom the side of technology classification in order to know the development stage ofdifferent kind of solar cell and the development stage of the basic technology and keytechnology. It can be found that the dye-sensitized solar cell should be the focus of thetype of cell technology innovation in China, and the technology conversion deviceshould be taken as the basic and also key technology. Thirdly, through the division oftechnology development stage and the construction of patent citation relationship, wecan draw out the patent citation network. From the network diagram, we can find thetechnique trajectory in different periods, which can help us grasp the technicalsituation changes, and be able to help us understand and analyze the futuredevelopment trend of the technology. Through the solar cell technology trajectorydynamic analysis, we can find that, at present, the technology is in a relatively stablestage. In this situation, China should take advantage of it and make the deepdevelopment in large-scale power generation and other important parts. Finally, on the basis of the above analysis, and combine with the patent situation of this field in ourcountry, we analyze China’s problems in development, and put forward thecorresponding countermeasures. System and technology innovation is the mainly partto enhance the competitive power of China’s solar cell industry, and we could solvethe existing problems from two aspects of government and enterprises. It needs thegovernment to formulate the policies to guide the development, and it also need usethe invisible hand of the market to start the application of solar cell in China.Enterprise needs to manufacture the products that truly meet the demand of domesticand international market through technology R&D by their own efforts. Thegovernment should actively cooperate with the enterprises, so as to solve manyproblems existing at present and guiding the Chinese solar cell manufacturing and R&D enterprises to enter the benign competition, to let China really become a bigcountry of photovoltaic industry.
