Study On Relationship Of The Population Structure, Urbanization And Economic Growth

With the deepening of reform and opening up, China’s economic growth hasattracted worldwide attention. Domestic and foreign scholars are working hard toexplore the factors behind the rapid economic growth in China. The rise of China as themost populous developing country in the world, can not be separated from the rich laborresources and the continuous improvement of the level of urbanization. However, withthe gradual disappearance of the demographic dividend, the future of China will befacing a shrinking labor resources, and how to look for other ways to identify a path ofsustainable development is the focus of the current decision-making.The relationship between the population structure, urbanization and economicgrowth is a complex system, population structure optimization promote economicgrowth, economic growth promote the improvement of the level of urbanization,urbanization will bring changes in the structure of the urban and rural population, and tofurther promote the economic growth. The eighteenth National Congress of the CPC putforwad the new urbanization Road, solve the factors constraining economic growth.Around these problems, this article start from the population structure, a systematicstudy of the relationship between population structure, urbanization and economicgrowth.In theory, this article on a demographic standpoint, to predict the future populationstructure, and to explore the relationship of the three means of econometrics andstatistics; empirical aspects, mainly in Chongqing population, urbanization andeconomic growth, for example, using data from1996to2010, the analysis of therelationship between population structure, urbanization and economic growth. On thepopulation structure, the future demographic structure of Chongqing made a detailedanalysis and principal component analysis and systematically testing means to identifythe relationship between demographic changes and economic growth; urbanization,mainly using VEC model and Granger causality test method. Finally, from thepopulation policy and regional economic policies put forward feasible suggestions.
