In the last30years, ethnic tourism in China maintained a "double high level" development on both tourist number and tourism revenues, particularly in the ethnic areas which own the unique cultural landscape, customs, and folk art.The booming tourism industry has brought huge economic income to the ethnic minority areas, and also promoted mutual understanding and cultural exchange between the different ethnic groups. With the development of ethnic tourism, ethnic tourism plays an important role on the economic and social development in ethnic minority areas, and it makes a profound impact on the lives of local residents at the same time, especially on the local ethnic minority women. They have followed and the created the national and local characteristics of the ethnic culture, folk dance culture, ethnic food culture and so on. It is not only an important ethnic cultural resource, but also the actual content of the national tourism development at present. Minority women participate in this process in the form of song and dance performances, food service, and crafts tourism services, in which they play an important role, and also bring their own individual development in the community and family.In this paper, the author takes the Buyi women in Zhenshan County as the research object and the combination of Anthropology and Women’s Studies as the research methods, and also makes systematic analysis of the impact of the national tourism on the development of ethnic minority women from a gender perspective. This research found that women from ethnic minorities promote the healthy development of the national tourism industry as an important force participation of ethnic tourism, and the national tourism industry has also changed the living environment of ethnic women to promote the women development.The dissertation is divided into five chapters:Chapter1focuses on problem consciousness, full review of related research in academic field, perspective of this study, methods and significance. The second chapter briefly introduces the field point of village. Chapter III describes the social life of Buyi women in the process of ethnic tourism development through particular field data, and also sums the approaches of Buyi women’s participation in tourism of Zhenshan Village. Chapter IV analyzes the gender roles of women in the Buyi traditional society in the aspects of marriage, funeral and other human life rituals, as well as the process of costumes and traditional crafts production, and makes a comparative analysis on the impact of which the ethnic tourism brings to the Buyi women in life of economy, society, culture and so on. The fifth chapter is conclusion.
