In recent years, our country is facing increasing pressure to reduce emission,and the dependence on foreign energy is also growing. As a major national policy inChina’s "12th Five-Year" period, energy conservation deeply affects the nationaleconomic and industrial development. As a foundational industry which has thesignificant influence to the national economy development, not only the power gridenterprise needs to reduce the transportation consumption and make theenvironmental protection work to become the standard and reduce energyconsumption of office work through their own efforts, it also needs to display thespecial function in the power grid enterprise and it has the vital significance to guideto generate electricity in upstream and uses electricity in downstream to carry on theenergy conservation to reduce the platoon. It affects broadly area and the reciprocityis complex, so it has the vital significance to establishes an index system for energysaving and emission to instruct the power grid work.This paper firstly analyzes what can be achieved in energy conservation of gridenterprises. Then combining with all aspects study of energy conservation, itestablishes energy saving index system and put forward the effective calculationmethods for different parts. Energy reduction index system proposed here has beenadopted by China Southern Power Grid Company and been applied into usualmanagement work of power grid company using the corresponding benefit calculationsoftware compiled by Excel. All the above will surely bring new metrics andcalculation methods to energy saving work of power generation companies and evenindustrial enterprises.
