Study On Taiwan Industrialization

A path leads to destiny; this is especially true for the development of a country or region. The choice of a correct development path can not only stimulate economic growth and improve people’s living standards, but also realize the sustainable development of economy. The path of industrialization serves as the principle, method as well as the mechanism of industrialization, which is to solve the problem as to how to realize the industrialization. Therefore, the purpose of industrialization is to stimulate economic development which is based on the reasonable industry structure that, as a result, changes with the industrialization path.The industrialization path of Taiwan is part and parcel of Chinese industrialization path and is essential to the modernization in East Asia. In this thesis, the analysis is combined with history and logic, with unified dynamic and static studies. From the perspective of Taiwan’s industrial structure, the thesis holds that Taiwan’s industrialization is launched by non-government force, based on technological revolution, acted by market mechanism and shifted from extensive to intensive. Taiwan’s industrialization is mainly characterized with the priority to the development of agriculture, the policy of the policy " agriculture supports industry while industry nurtures agriculture", the replacement of heavy industry by textile industry, the promotion of information by industrialization, the diversity of capital source, the basic synchronization of industrialization and urbanization, and export-oriented development.It is the industrialization path which is suitable to the economic development surroundings with the characteristic of Taiwan that boosts Taiwan’s economic growth and enables Taiwan to become one of the Four Asian Tigers, but it is also this path that makes Taiwan’s economy step into plight. As a result, it is necessary to analyze the process, characteristics, industrial structure, problems and trends of Taiwan’s industrialization path which will give insight into the realization of Chinese great revival.
