| Now the post80’s has already been the main force in the workplace, with atotally different experience in growth background from the60’s and70’s. This makesthem form a different work value and different personality characteristics. So there isa great significance to study the post80’s employees’ work values.On the basis of the literature review, the study uses the Value Survey of Rokeachas a basic questionnaire and combined with the Chinese culture background andcharacteristics of the times. After a test of one small sample, this article revise the post80’s work values dimension based on the factor analysis. The samples are adoptedrandom. Several conclusions are come out according to the statistical results.(1)The revised80’s Employee Work Values Scale has a good reliability and agood validity. The80’s Employee Work Values can be divided into13dimensionsaccording to the exploratory factor analysis. The ultimate values include sevendimensions: International harmony and national prosperity, the meaning of work,health, beauty, social status, safe and traditional religious piety. Instrumental valuesinclude six dimensions: aggressive, good quality, compliance, economic returns,altruism and management.(2)Compare the F when the sample was divided into11classes and18classes byusing K-means clustering method. Dividing the samples into13classes.(3)The order of rating’mean of work values’ every dimension by80’s employeeswas “healthâ€,“good qualityâ€,“complianceâ€,“aggressiveâ€,“the meaning of workâ€,“altruismâ€,“managementâ€,“economic returnsâ€,“traditional religious pietyâ€,“safeâ€,“social statusâ€,“International harmony and national prosperityâ€,“beautyâ€.(4)In terms of gender, male80’s employees pay more attention to the work ofindividual development, the sense of achievement, interpersonal relationship. Theyface the work more rational. Female80’s staff is more focused on job stability.(5) In terms of age, the26-30years old80’s employees pay more attention to thestimulus and personal ability. Also they focused more on the work unremittingly andloyalty to the enterprise.(6) In terms of work period, the80’s worker who worked for4-7years pay moreattention to international harmony and national prosperity than the employees whoworked for1-3years. They are more focused on health and the work unremittingly and loyalty than the80’s employees who worked less than one year. Also, they paymore attention on work stimulation and personal capabilities than workers’ whoworked more than7years.(7)Managers should take appropriate management measures to manage the post80’s employees according to their work values to improve staff’s motivation andreduce the turnover rate. Also they should care about the change of the80’semployees’ work values and change management measures immediately.(8)The80’s employees should understand themselves objectively and plan theircareer reasonable and realistic. |
