Commercial bank in our country basically adopts the traditionalperformance evaluation method. As a member of Bank of China ShandongBranch, the same situation I have known is that it measures the businessperformance mainly by constructing the financial index system, which isinconsistent with the current business environment and competitionsituation. Since great changes have taken place in banking businessenvironment, corresponding to this, the business performance evaluationsystem needs to be perfect. Performance evaluation should be put into thewhole process of strategic management, in order to combine the financialindicators and non-financial indicators and to reflect the advantage oflong-term development. Great importance should be attached to thevalue-added benefit brought by clients. More attention needs to be paidto the important role of internal process and staff level in businessperformance. All the above improvements will significantly promote thedevelopment of Shandong branch. The Balanced Score Card as a mainstreamperformance evaluation tool nowadays is an effective method to solve theproblems of the bank. With combining the business process, customs,employees and other factors, we should also build an effective performanceevaluation system, with the purpose of encouraging the executives toanalyze the current situation and the future development of the companyfrom this four dimensions, and to track and analyze and find problems basedon the given index, and thus to promote the reform and perfection of theperformance evaluation.Many experts and scholars both at home and abroad have conducted a lot of research on how to use the Balanced Score Card, which provide severalideas and theoretical logic to us. Therefore, it has certain researchvalue on how to use the Balanced Score Card theory to establish the perfectand feasible performance evaluation system.This paper aggressively investigates the reformation path and futuredirection of the performance evaluation of Bank of China Shandong Branch.Besides, it analyzes and optimizes the current performance evaluationsystem based on the Balanced Score Card, and also combines the financialfactors and non-financial factors in the performance evaluation process.Meanwhile, issues that require attention in the performance evolutionprocess are also put foreword. Including five parts:Firstly, propose thebackground, purpose and the significance, the content and methods ofresearch, as well as the current research situation at home and abroad.Secondly, produce bank of china Shandong Branch, analysis its performanceevaluation system and summarized the main problems, then bring in balancedscore card comprehensively, and describe its applicability. Thirdly,research the principle of designing, strategy map of drawing, and try toconstruct the performance evaluation system which adapted to differentlevels, and make sure the weight of every factor. Fourthly, study on theimplementation process of the new performance evaluation system and theproblems should be taken attention and the assurance measures. Lastly,summarize this paper.The thesis is not only to optimize balanced scorecard system for bank ofchina Shandong Branch, but also to strengthen the thinking of BSC. So useit more effectively can enhance the comprehensive competitiveness of thebank for the future prosperity.
