| The supply of public product plays an important role in any national economydevelopment and welfare improvement in the lives of the people of the country. Withthe rapid growth of our national income and the increase in the level of socialdevelopment, the private products are diminishing for social marginal benefit, and thesocial supply for the public products are increasing rapidly. However, in conjunctionwith national public goods demand rapid growth, overall supply of public products inChina (especially in rural areas) have been at a low level, increasingly unable to meetthe needs of social and economic development.Chongqing, as a young municipality of China, the most notable feature is the largeurban and rural coexistence of socio-economic development, regional imbalances, andthe binary structure of the economy significantly. Since07when Chongqing has been amunicipality, while it has made great strides in economic and social life of thedevelopment, but imbalances in development between regions are still outstanding, inparticular the interregional gap on the increasing trend of expanding the supply ofpublic goods, especially as urban and rural "bridge" supply of rural passengertransportation system, has became bottleneck in the Chongqing economic and socialdevelopment. In the context of public products, to research status and problems ofChongqing’s rural passenger transport system and to explore the strategy for adversityare of great theoretical and practical significance for the acceleration of Chongqing’surban and rural development, bridging the gap in regional developme nt, improvingpeople’s quality of life, and constructing a harmonious socialist society.By analyzing the characteristics of rural passenger transport, which includescurrent status, existed problem, article based on the theory of public product.
