An Emirical Research On The Regional Green Competitiveness

With the increasing speed of the economic globalization, the natural environmentthat we human are living in is deteriorating, which is an enormous threat to oursustainable development. In the traditional economic development mode, thedevelopment of the society and the prosperity of the economy are use and wastenatural resources, which causes environmental damage and eventually leads to theunsustainability of economic development, ecological environment and naturalresource. Hence it is necessary to consider the harmonious relationship betweenhuman and nature and protecting our living environment when regional economy isbooming. As an important part of the overall national economy, regional economy isin a strategical position. And in recent years, as green economies like low-carboneconomy and recycling economy are emerging, regional economy is now graduallydeveloping in a green way. Since the central regions, economic development has agreat dependence on environmental resources, it is important and necessary toresearch its competitiveness on green economy development and to analyze theproblems existing in the process of developing green economy, besides, somestrategies are introduced accordingly.Based on the above cognition and thinking, this thesis analyzes the essence ofregional green competitiveness and builds an assessing model for regional greencompetitiveness, using regional economy theory, green economy theory andcompetitive advantage theory as its theoretical foundations; massive data andmaterials are collected and the green competitiveness of the central regions isempirically analyzed to make suggestions on improving regional greencompetitiveness.This thesis is divided into7chapters. In chapter1, research background andmethods are introduced; in chapter2, the theoretical frame of green competitiveness isbuilt and brief comments and retrospection on the former relative researches are made;in chapter3, the assessing model of regional green competitiveness is built, and thechoice of assessment method and the design of indicator system are also elaborated;in chapter4, empirical analysis on regional green competitiveness is made, synthetical values of the central six provinces are measured, in chapter5, comparisons andanalyses of the this six provinces are made.,In chapter6, from the perspective ofmacro-economy, the strategies on cultivating and improving regional green economyare made and analyzed. In chapter7, conclusion of this thesis is presented andprospect of relevant researches is introduced.
