In recent years, with continuous improvement of people’s life quality, food safety has become an issue of primary importance, which is related to the international community, people’s livelihood, health and life, and social harmony and stability. Incidents concerning food safety happen occasionally; one important reason is impracticable safety responsibility of enterprises. One of the important aims of building traceability system for meat and vegetable circulation is to establish inverted pressure market mechanism by proceeding from circulation field, strengthen the awareness and capability of the first person in charge of enterprises, impel production enterprises to produce food in accordance with food safely standard, thus promoting guarantee level of food safety. Currently, no matter market, supermarket or retailers rarely have access to concrete information regarding cultivation, processing, transportation and sale of vegetables. Such situation could not satisfy consumers’ right to know and choose. Establishment of agricultural products traceability system helps the society supervise the whole supply chain system, thus really solving the problem of food and medicine safety.In view of existing situation that domestic large-scale vegetable production enterprises lack effective information management methods and then quality safety tracking and traceability system does not form, this thesis draws on the advanced foreign and domestic experience in food safety traceability, makes use of information coding technology of SQL Server2000to set an information bank for data collection and analysis with integration of vegetable cultivation, processing, inspection and quarantine, and sale, design a dynamic information circulation chain with vegetable breeding, production and management, vegetable grading, vegetable processing, inspection and quarantine, packaging and store, and supermarket sale as the object, set two-dimension code as the primary key and makes use of its technology characteristics, including large amount of information, strong error correcting capability, low printed requirements, long operating life and low cost, to code and convert collected information about vegetable cultivation, processing, sale and so on. Efforts should be made to build vegetable traceability system, explore and utilize modern information technology management market, realize the goals that vegetable product source can be traced, its whereabouts can be investigated and verified and the responsibility for its safety can be investigated and affixed, thereby strengthening guarantee ability of food safety.
