Cephalopods is one of the most valued capture products with larger growth potentialin the international market, plays more and more important role in foreign trade. Chinais the biggest cephalopods producing and export country in the world, China’scephalopod products have comparative advantage of its natural resource, but From thepoint of view of trade structure and competitiveness, its advantage showed ininternational is far less than the advantage of its natural resources. Through theresearch of current condition about the trading structure and internationalcompetitiveness of China’s cephalopods, this paper wants to analyze the main factorsand seek their mechanism, then puts forward some suggestions and advice, so that thegovernment and enterprises could take more positive measures to expand the export tradeand improve international competitiveness of China’s cephalopods.On the basis of collecting mass of data and previous studies, the paper combinestheoretical analysis together with empirical analysis, qualitative analysis togetherwith quantitative analysis,adopts the theories of competitive advantage,managementscience and international competitiveness, studies China’s cephalopods tradestructure and competiveness.The main conclusions are as follows:1、Analyzing the changing characteristics of world and China’s cephalopods tradestructure and competitiveness. Both world and China’s cephalopods trade outputincreases curved. According to a long time, most of the years, China is a net exporterin cephalopods trade, the structure of cephalopods products in fresh and frozen areunbalanced,the regional structure,both export and import,are unbalanced too. theexport market inclines to diversify and export regional structure taks on optimizedtrend,but import market maintains unbalanced state..2、Compared with other main14cephalopods countries, China itself has natural resource, international competitiveness is less than Vietnam and Peru, better thanother developing countries and the developed countries such as Japan, USA and othersome European countries.3、In order to raise competitiveness、optimize structure and expand export tradeof China’s cephalopods, it is necessary for enterprises to exploit traditional marketssuch as Japan and European countries, meanwhile, develop new market such asAustralia,Canada,to improve products quality and adopt brand strategy. Governmentplays a positive function such as implement appropriate subsidies system, creat andorderly market environment, and so on. Chinese Fishery economic organization alsoplays its coordination functions between foreign import market and China export market,government and enterprises.
