Economic man supposition is the precondition of western classical economics, newclassical economics theory, its itself is to be set in the main and dominant position ineconomic activities of man. Economic man supposition concept of its main contents are:(a) people in the economic activities are completely selfish.(2) people are completelyrational in economic activity. But economic man hypothesis in both macro and microaspect will have great limitations. This article will from the macro and micro two aspectsanalyzes its limitations. Macro level, mainly based on marxist humanism theory, from theperson’s attributes, the essence of man, man’s status, the value of a man, man’s freeoverall development five dimension limitation on a macro level of reflection on theeconomic man hypothesis, and summarizes its limitations. In the micro level, this paperfocus on the economic man supposition in practice may be limited to carry on the analysisand summary. In view of the economic man supposition the limits of the macro and microtwo aspects, from the macro and micro level can we make the two possible ways toovercome and transcend the limitations of economic man supposition. By scientificdevelopment view of human-oriented idea, may be able to overcome the limitation ofmacro economic man supposition. From man’s attributes, the nature, status, value andfreedom comprehensive development of five levels of economic man’s all-rounddevelopment, to realize the economic activities are content to the transformation of thepeople. At the same time, can through the system construction, can overcome thelimitations of economic man hypothesis in the micro level, so as to accomplish theovercome of two aspects of economic assumptions and beyond.
