Electric Product R&D Project Management Research

In recent years, with the fast developing of science and technology andthe accelerating of economic globalization, as well as advancedmanufacturing technology and information technology, the marketcompetition is becoming fierce, product life cycles are becoming shorter,which forces companies to introduce new products with the shorter time andthe lower cost. Product development performance has become a key factor inthe company’s competition.In order for the requirement of the new product development under thenew situation, we should not only follow the product development process inthe new product development, but also make sure the success of the projectby project management.Although R&D project management has become a more maturediscipline in developed countries, which has already form a complete set ofmanagement approach. But in China, the management approach of R&D still remains in the low level, so far, there is no effective management approachfor the new product developing. Due to lack of strategic and benefitconsideration in the project choice, project success rate is low. The authorthought that if can introduce the international advanced project managementapproach to the new product development process to management, willgreatly improve the domestic product development and the probability ofsuccessful and significantly shorten the cycle of new product developmentThe author long-term in the electronics industry is engaged in thedevelopment of project management, therefore, in this paper, the author madea preliminary discussion and research with working practice on how to carryon the electronic product development project.First of all, this paper introduces a kind of new product developmentproject management process, the management method of the actual productdevelopment process can be divided into six stages: the concept andevaluation stage, design planning phase, design review and prototype stage,mold manufacturing and engineering development phase, the product launchstage and mass production stage, and discussed respectively. Set a checkpointat the end of each stage of first five stage, which was reviewed by the head ofthe relevant departments. Only project which pass the review and getapproval from the management can enter the next phase. Managers can continue, cancel or change the project based on the actual situation of projectdevelopment.Then, I compared the general new product developing approach with theintroduced new product development management approach in the paper inthe combination with my experiences, pointed out the inadequacies of thedevelopment of new products in the domestic electronics companies andexplored ways to expand product development process and how to effectivelyimplement the project management of new product development.The importance of the paper is to explore the application of projectmanagement in the development of new electronic products and furtherdeepening of suitable new electronic product development projectmanagement processes, management of product development for many of ourdomestic electronics companies inspiration and reference significance...
