Zecha Gahai Nature Reserve in Gansu Province,as one of the National NatureReserve, is a kind of unique ecosystem within the territory of China. It plays a key rolein maintaining the stability of the local ecological environment. With the intensificationof national development and efforts, the region’s capacity for accommodating touristshas expanded and the tourist number increases within years, which brings huge socialand economic benefits for local people. However, there are still all kinds ofenvironmental problems in existence----vegetation environment in Nature Reserve issomewhat disturbed and there has been a slip in environmental quality. Therefore, rapiddevelopment in ecotourism will be very important. It will minimize the destruction ofNature Reserve to combine the development of Nature Reserve, pastoral region andvegetation environmental protection. Only in this way is it possible to accomplishharmonious co-existence among human beings, nature and environment, whichcoordinates economic, social and ecological benefits to accomplish the sustainabledevelopment.Based on the data collected through investigations, this paper evaluates theimpacts of vegetation environment of Nature Reserve by using the theory and methodof ecology, ecotourism, and tourist management. According to the tourism impactdegree on vegetation, tourism impact districts are graded with the method of SPSSclassification. This paper systematically analyzes correlation of different tourismimpact-index as well as the impact of the main tourism impact-index on vegetationenvironment of Nature Reserve. On the foundation of analysis of tourism impact degree, character of tourists and eco-tourism exploitation, some suggestions about vegetationprotection in Nature Reserve as well as eco-tourism management and exploitation areput forward. The main results are as follows:(1)From the correlation and results of principle component impact analysis, thefurther the horizontal distance from the flow-path, the lower the sensitivity level, thehigher the sight importance value, the more stable the species diversity informationindex, the lower the tourist impact index. In contrast, the higher the sensitivity level, the less stable the species diversity information index, the worse the ecologicalenvironment, the higher the tourist impact index.(2) According to the tourism impact evaluation degree, eco-tourism in NatureReserve arrives at a great level on the whole and the management is on a high standard. The better area is far from the flow-path; the reasonable standard area includes thejuncture of village and tourism area, and a few low standard areas lie in the entrance oftourism area as well as the tourist activity concentration section. The Nature Reserveenjoys a promising prospect of tourism with the advantage of its unique naturallandscape, ecological environment, and convenient traffic.(3)Besides, the vegetation environment in Nature Reserve is somewhat disrupted. It is essential to reinforce the vegetation protection and resume work as well as thetourism management and to strengthen propaganda and educational work to improvethe quality of tourists and herdsmen. At the same time, the backward development ofrelated industries, the inchoate industry chain to nourish the economic growth anduniformity of management mode go against the tourism development in Nature Reserve. Therefore, it is essential to increase fund input, to improve the basic infrastructureconstruction, and to increase tourism participation projects as well as the distinctivetravelling products. Government and concerned sectors need to further strengthenmanagement, improve services, bring in talents, and strengthen relations betweenNature Reserve and tourist attractions nearby to so as to achieve interactivedevelopment.
