China and most of ASEAN countries belong to agricultural production power, therefore in the process of trade cooperation between China and ASEAN, agricultureplays an important role in national economy and agricultural trade is pay muchattention to both sides of the issue. In2002, China and ASEAN signed the frameworkagreement on comprehensive economic cooperation between China and ASEAN, forthe two sides establish a China-ASEAN free trade area, China-ASEAN free tradearea came into force in2004the early harvest program, slashing agricultural tariffs, in2006, most of the agricultural implements the zero tariff, since then, China-ASEANfree trade area was established and deepening cooperation on trade in goods, makethe terms of trade of agricultural products trade, promote the rapid development of theagricultural products trade, bilateral trade volume of agricultural products from3.81billion to26.24billion, the scale of the agricultural products trade expanded rapidly, but at the same time, China’s agricultural products trade deficit is expanded year byyear, so it is necessary to study of china-ASEAN agricultural products trade. In this paper, it use the chart analysis method and material of induction toanalyze the status quo of China and ASEAN agricultural products trade. Thenaccording to the theory of comparative advantage, factor endowment theory, competitive advantage theory as the theoretical basis, through trade competitiveadvantage index, revealed comparative advantage index and trade complementarityindex of China and ASEAN of various types of agricultural product trade competitiveand complementary quantitative analysis. Through the analysis we found that due tothe low content of China’s agricultural science and technology itself, the low degreeof processing, the lower level of standardization; The relatively small size of theagricultural enterprises, the industrialization degree is relatively low; Governmentadopted a policy of "zero tariff" in ASEAN agricultural products into the Chinesemarket and other factors, China’s agricultural products trade competitiveness is weak.In the agricultural product trade complementarities, due to the geographical location and agricultural products in the difference of factor endowments, the differences inaspects of the enterprise product market demand, makes the export of China andASEAN has strong complementarity of agricultural products. This trade competitiveand complementary characteristics led to such situation,, on the one hand, itexpanded the Chinese agricultural product variety and size of the market, help exporteconomies of agricultural enterprises enter the international market and leads thedomestic investment funds to the advantage of product; On the other hand, it willthreat the domestic product and the enterprise is still in the immature stage, so from along-term perspective, China’s agricultural products trade deficit has continued toexpand the risk situation. For this kind of situation, this article according to agricultural products, agricultural enterprises, government and trade external environment four aspects putforward relevant policy Suggestions. It thinks of agricultural products shouldstrengthen the research and development of science and technology input, to deepprocessing of products such as; To the enterprise to change the existing mode ofproduction, to encourage the scale production and product upgrade; At thegovernment level, it must promote standardization production, strengthen themonitoring of each section of import and export of agricultural products and supportrelated industries; On the external environment, it should enhance cooperationbetween China and ASEAN, speed up infrastructure construction and safeguardregional peace and development, in order to promote the sustainable development ofagricultural trade.
