The establishment of China-ASEAN(CAFTA) has promoted the rapid growth of thebilateral trade effectively. As the importance of agriculture in the economy of China andmost ASEAN countries, the bilateral agricultural products trade tariffs was canceled in2010.Under this background, The thesis studied on the current situation of bilateralagricultural products trade, including the competition and complementarity, and thenstudied on the influencing factors of bilateral agricultural products trade. It can not onlyhelp us to understand the development process and trade situation of bilateral agriculturalproducts trade more clearly, but also be beneficial to our government to formulate tradepolicy more targeted.Firstly, the thesis reviews the developing course of bilateral agricultural products trade. Itturns out that the agricultural products trade were keep growing since the beginning of theCAFTA, but China is still not the maximum partner of ASEAN in agricultural products, and have been suffering long-term deficit. Subsequently, the thesis studied the competitionand complementarity of bilateral trade in agricultural products through several indexes. The indexes indicates, in agricultural products trade, China and ASEAN are importantpartners to each other and it turns out ASEAN are more important to China, the bilateraltrade are mainly inner-industry trade and the bilateral trade has obvious complementarity,ASEAN’s comparative advantage in its export is larger than China, and China’s RCA isdeclining. On this basis, this paper focuses on the research of influencing factors ofbilateral agricultural products trade. The author choosed the cross-sectional data of tworeprensentive year,2004when the “Early Harvest Program” starts and2011with the lastestdata, and established the gravity model respectively. The conclusion shows,“transportationcost in trade” and “English is the lingua franca or not” are replacing “real GDP per capita”and “the number using the web per100people” to become the new influence factors of thebilateral agricultural products. Finally, according to the above conclusions and the realityof our country, this thesis puts forward some feasible suggestions.
