In recent years, as China’s economic integration with the world economy, theeconomic development in various fields has made great progress. Several largepetrochemical enterprise groups quickly grow to become a pillar of the nationaleconomy. On the one hand, they take on the important task of protecting the nationaleconomy and people’s livelihood, on the other hand is also actively involved in theinternational market competition. Especially in recent years, large petrochemicalenterprises groups which are represented by Sinopec, PetroChina have been graduallygrowing for the major international energy market participants. But these enterpriseshave to face the changeable international market circumstances, increasingly intenseinternal and external competition, sharp volatility of the international crude oil market,price inversion between the domestic refined oil prices and crude oil prices. And themajor oil products such as gasoline, diesel oil and kerosene are strictly controlled bythe Chinese government, the price mechanism has not yet formed. These factors makethese enterprises need to change the existing business philosophy as soon as possible,improve the management level, cost efficiency, and enhance the competitiveness ofenterprises.Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) had have been maturely applied in theforeign petrochemical enterprises, which is one of the most effective ways to improvecompetitiveness. China’s petrochemical enterprises should actively promote achievethe ERP widely be used in the industry. The ERP implementation will lead to the fullrange impact to the enterprises. The organizational structure of petrochemicalenterprises is very complicated, process mode is special. So the implementation ofERP is inevitable different from other industries.In this paper, referring to related theoretical literature on ERP implementationand Performance evaluation, through Fujian Refining and Petrochemical CompanyLimited’s ERP implementation case study, I summarized the characteristic of ERPimplementation in petrochemical industry. By analyzing the ERP implementation status in FREP, the article gives an evaluation to the ERP implementation. The papersummarizes the advantages and improvement after the implementation of ERP, andgives some suggestions on informationization construction to FREP. It will helpenterprises adapt to their own ERP implementation mode base on its owncharacteristics. I Hope that this study could play a reference role of Fujian Refiningand Petrochemical Company Limited and related petrochemical industries andenterprises.
