During the project purchasing management, it’s the critical step how to select andchoose the supplier. And the potential suppliers searching scope lead to whether tochoose the “better” supplier. But if the searching scope is too big, this takes buyer toomuch time and resource to finish potential supplier searching task, which has beenbeyond the actual value of project purchasing success. To solve the problem aboutsuppliers sample size and optimizing supplier evaluation process, it’s helpful to studythe potential suppliers’ scope and evaluation method based upon risk management.Project team sets the part risk target in project kick-off, sourcing agent couldspecify potential supplier risk and scope by using this clear risk matrix, minimize thepotential supplier quantity from many potential suppliers by comparing thecommunication components risk and supplier risk and clustering analysis, furtheranalysis the supplier risk factors by analytic hierarchy process, and make the riskmanagement plan to monitor and control risk when launching the project intosupplier.In this paper, making use of the practice in the routine purchasing work, try toquantify the part risk and supplier risk and use the quantified data to apply intoanalysis model, and conclude to the preferable supplier for team. At last, project teamprepares the risk mitigation plan and risk management plan to control the riskeffectively.
