Increasingly, crises are common parts of the organizational landscape in modern life.As they start to affect the organizations in regular intervals, achieving a stable growth in thepersistent crisis context takes on a bigger precedence. Some of these crises are born into bythe organizations while some others are encountered as firms try to attain internationalgrowth.In this paper, as part of literature review, crisis is defined and causes, types andmanagement of it are separately examined in addition to the theoretical approaches to thecrisis. Another part of the literature review is regarding the types of corporate internationalgrowth strategies that includes basic strategies of exporting, licensing and franchising, jointventures and wholly owned subsidiaries and diversification.Due to the growing number ofcrises being run into by firms as they grow globally, this research aims to shed light on howthey can be avoided or managed while keeping a steady growth through the Huawei casestudy. Huawei‘s steady growth during the crisis times and expansion of its markets whilecrises persisted were some of the main reasons for analyzing this company. Huawei‘sorganizational structure, crisis management system, core competences and partnerships wereexamined to give an insight on what makes this company successful. In addition, Huawei waspointed out as utilizing ambidextrous internationalization strategy and was also analyzedfrom the perspective of a latecomer emerging economy firm. Finally, the lessons learnedfrom Huawei analysis was applied to the generic challenges faced by Chinese enterprises inorder to present a broadly capable view on the issue of internationalization of Chinese firmsin crisis times.
