Innovation is the organizational foundation for sustainable development, andorganizational innovation is closely related to individual innovative behavior. In theprevious studies, scholars have studied the antecedents of individual innovative behaviorwhile leadership is a key factor among the antecedents. Based on the Chinese culture, thisresearch has investigated the relationship and mediation mechanism between authorativeleadership and individual innovative behavior. More importantly, this thesis has discussedthe impact of cross-strait subcultures on the relationship between authorative leadershipand individual innovative behavior using a comparative analysis.This thesis is composed of seven chapters. In the introductory chapter, we havechiefly presented the backgroud, significance, technical route and framework of this thesis.In chapter two, which is a literature review, we have made a systematic collation andsummary of the literatures of authorative leadership, innovative behavior, psychologicalsafety and cross-straits subcultures comparative analysis. In chapter three, theory andhypothesis, presented the relevant theory and the process of hypothesis reasoning. Inchapter four, which is study design and data collection, we have illustrated the variableselection, measurement, scale design and data collection in detail. Chapter five is dataanalysis and results. In this chapter, we have analyzed the data from218pieces ofquestionnaire using SPSS statistical software and found that:(1) authorative leadershiphas a negative impact on individual innovative behavior;(2) authorative leadership isnegatively related to individual psychological safety;(3) psychological safety is positivelyrelated to individual innovative behavior;(4) psychological safety mediates therelationship between authorative leadership and individual innovative behavior;(5)Comparing to the samples from Taiwan, the mediation effect above is more significant insamples from Mainland China. In chapter six, Discussion, we have presented someexplanations of the results we found in the data analysis. In chapter seven, which isConclusion, Contribution and Prospect, we have summarized what we find in thisresearch, in addition, indicated the limitations of this thesis and future directions forrelevant researches.
