Food Safety Ana Risk Management

The issue of food safety is catching more and more attention in recent years. The physicalhealth and safety of people, the political and economic development of the country, and thesurvival and evolution of human, are all closely related to food safety. Yet, at present, the risks offood safety are widespread around the world. How to conduct scientific good safety supervisionhas become an important task for governments in various countries. Attention for food safety wasdrawn to relatively late by the Chinese government and scholars. As of now, a number ofdrawbacks exist, and has led to the occurrence of endless streams of food safety incidents. Thepublic are on the verge of breakdown when it comes to food safety. The issue of food safety notonly poses threat to the lives of the people, but also affects political stability and internationalreputation.Through years of study and practice, risk management theory has become fairly mature. It isapplied widely in various fields. However, its application in the food safety management is rare.Although there are cases abroad, it is not perfect, and is still in explorative stage. In China, there arescholars conducting basic research in theoretical aspects on food safety risk management, researchof the combination of practice and theory is basically blank.The paper starts from the existing problems of export food safety supervision in China, andthen conducts in-depth analysis on food safety supervision methods of a number of developedcountries. On the basis of researching on risk management theory and its application status in foodsafety supervision, it takes references from advanced food safety supervision methods and specificmeasures in foreign countries, and analyzes on the application of risk management in export foodsafety supervision in Ningbo for evidence. Given the research findings, and with the integration ofpractice and theory, the paper constructs a fundamental framework of food safety risk management,obtains corresponding conclusions, and proposes rational policy recommendations on food safetyrisk management in China.
