R&D is an important source of competitive. R&D allows companies tocontinue moving forward, not standing still. R&D can make the difference in theformation of companies and competitors, to gain an advantage in the competition. R&D can make a company a leader, not a follower, or even a loser. Therefore, enterprises must pay attention to research and development. R&D is also aproduction activity. We should emphasize efficiency.Analysis would need to examine the efficiency of inputs and outputs. In thispaper, the main R&D investment is capital investment and human input. Measure ofR&D investment, the paper use R&D funding for this indicator. But because thisindicator appears relatively late in the Statistical Yearbook and databases, this articlewill use total internal expenditure scientific and technological activities (2001-2004years) Intramural total expenditures and technology development (2000) statistics inthe early years. To measure R&D investment in manpower, this article will focus onthe use of R&D staff of full-time equivalent of this indicator. This indicator alsoappears relatively late in the Statistical Yearbook and databases, and this article willuse technology developers (2001-2004) and technological activities (2000) statisticsin the early years. We will select the invention herein as an indicator of professionalapplications in the analysis of research outputs. Although the patent situation is onlyan intermediate product research and development, R&D is not the ultimate goal anddestination, particularly patents but patents are valuable crystalline R&D activities,is an important indicator of the success of research and development to get to a certainextentIn the analysis of R&D productivity, we must find the factors that affect theefficiency of research and development. The biggest difference betweenresource-based industries and other industries is that the natural resource-basedindustries have strong dependence on resources directly. If these resources aredepleted, the corresponding resource-based industries are decidedly difficult tomaintain. Therefore, in the study of factors affecting the efficiency of resource-basedindustries development, the paper added resources status. Each resource-basedindustries are corresponding to different natural resources, some industries alsocorresponds to very many different types of resources. In order to facilitate andsimplify the analysis in this article, we select a small number of the most importantresearch resource-based industries in each corresponding natural resources. Finally, the paper chooses the ownership, firm size, capital intensity, asset-liability ratio, profitability, resource status as factors.Corporate capital, personal capital and Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan capitaland R&D efficiency have a positive relationship. Firm size and R&D efficiencyhave the reverse relationship. Corporate capital intensity and R&D efficiency have apositive relationship. Enterprise asset-liability ratio and R&D efficiency have thereverse relationship. This means that, in resource-based industries, if the corporateassets-liability ratio increased R&D efficiency is decreased. Corporate profitabilityand efficiency of R&D has a positive relationship. This means that, inresource-based industries, if profit margins increased R&D efficiency is raising.Resources and R&D efficiency in enterprise resource-based industries have a majorpositive relationship dependent. Finally, the paper puts forward recommendations.
